Braces, that attach to the front of your teeth have been growing in popularity in recent years, due to their cosmetic appeal and options. One of the drawbacks of braces is that they can sometimes be hard to clean. If your braces aren’t kept clean or they are damaged, it can injure your mouth and could even extend the duration you need to wear them.

Chewing gum or eating sticky foods can bend wires and bands or even pull a bracket loose from one of your teeth. Crunchy foods and bad habits like chewing on pencils and pens chewing on ice, can also cause significant damage.

You will need to include your braces in your oral hygiene. This starts by brushing and flossing your teeth twice each day. Interdental brushes, floss threaders with wax coated floss and dental water jets are all very useful tools, for removing food particles from between your teeth, and the hardware of the braces.
