Questions about orthodontic treatment? We have answers

At the orthodontic office of Orthodontics Inc. our patients have questions about how we’ll go about creating smiles they’ll treasure for years. And that’s a good thing, because we love answering them! There are a lot of perceptions — and misperceptions — about what we do, and we’re happy to provide our patients with all the information they need.

Here are answers to three frequently asked questions:

Question: What’s the best treatment for me?

Answer: We provide an array of treatment options, depending on the patient’s age, the shape of the patient’s teeth, and the alignment of the jaw. These include traditional braces, clear aligners, retainers, mouthguards, and more. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to our treatment. We arrive at a recommendation after an examination and in consultation with patients about their goals.

Question: What’s the fastest treatment method?

Answer: Advances in orthodontics technology and techniques have made our treatments considerably faster than in the past. The average length of treatment is about 22 months, as reported by members of the American Association of Orthodontists. The duration is dependent upon which treatment option we choose, the scope of the work, and how carefully each patient follows our instructions on maintaining a good oral hygiene routine and receiving regular cleanings. Some simple treatments may take a few months, although correcting an entire bite may involve several years.

Question: What’s the best age for having orthodontic treatment?

Answer: There is no ideal age for receiving our treatment. We have the skills and methods to deliver a healthy, beautiful smile regardless of the patient’s age. While we recommend that youngsters have their first visit by age 7 to monitor development and provide early intervention, our treatment can be highly successful in adults, as well.

At Orthodontics Inc. we’re sure you have more questions about how we can create a smile you’ll be proud of for years to come. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for an appointment!
